Friday Idea!

I hope ya'll are having a great week. A couple of things today, I am planning another workshop for this coming month and I have the Friday Idea for you.

The next workshop will be May 17th (saturday) 10-noon. We will be making a small photo album using chipboard coasters. I am making mine to give to Madeline's pre-school teacher as her end of the year gift, so I will include pictures that I have taken through-out the school year and I am planning a visit to the playground to get some more pics. These are very cute gifts for teachers, grandparents or even yourself. The cost is $10. You will get 10 chipboard coasters, 3 sheets of 12x12 DP paper, 1 Whisper white, 2 solid card stocks that coordinate with your DP paper, ribbon and grommets. All you need to bring is adhesive. I will provide the liquid adhesive we will use to cover the chip board coasters but for all other embellishments that you choose you will want to have your standard photo splits or tape runner. I need to order the coasters from an online store that I have not ordered at before so to insure that I get the coasters in plenty of time I would like to order by this coming Wednesday, so please let me know before then if you plan on attending.

Here is a sample that I found on splitcoast of the project that we will be working on.

Now to the fun stuff. FRIDAY IDEA!

This is a card I made this week to send to a family friend just because I had been thinking about her. This was my first time using this stamp set and I don't know that I am 100% pleased with the outcome.

Stamp set: Tart & Tangy, So many sayings
Ink: Pink Passion, green galore
Cardstock: Pink Passion
Checked paper: I cheated it's from Micheal's (shhh!)
Tools: scallop punch, 1.5 circle punch
Ribbon: Target $1 bin from last summer

10 for 10!

April 27th from 10:00 to 3:00 we will be scrapbooking at my house. As always you will have free reign over my tools, stamps and ink. Papers, chipboard, embellishments etc. can be purchased by the piece. During this time I will be offering a 10 for 10. I will prepare all the stuff you need to make 10 cards that I have already designed and the cost is only $10. If you do not want to make the cards and just come crop that is great if you just want to stop by at some point and just make the 10 cards that is fine too.
Please let me know if you plan on attending by next Friday. Given that this will be a come and go event I was thinking that those of us that are here at lunch time we can just order a pizza or something.

Friday Idea!

Friday Idea:
This is the thank you notes for Madeline to give to her friends. Very simple design because well I am exhausted over this party.
Paper: Pretty in pink & very vanilla
Ink: Going gray & Chocolate chip
Stamp sets: Wanted & So many sayings
Embellishments: hemp cord from michaels ( I am in love with this cording!)
Tools: Crop-a-dile to punch hole in the middle of the little round guys so that I could string them onto the cord & CM punch to punch out the little guys to make them a pointy circle thing (wow technical term there!)
Techniques: The horse I stamped him or her if you are talking to my daughter 3 times without re-inking so that it adds dimension and I slightly overlapped each horse so that they kinda look like they are in a herd together. (do horses run in herds? maybe a pack?)

Friday Idea!

Still working on Madeline's birthday. Today's project is the party favor bags for her birthday. I used the brown bags I had gotten on clearance a while back and I think they work much better for this project then the valentine project I had tried them with earlier.

Ink: Pretty in Pink
Stamp set: Wanted
Twine is the same roll of hemp cord from micheal's jewelry making dept.
Paper: Blush blossom for the scalloped circle and very vanilla for the horse.

I used my crop-a-dile to punch 4 very small semi-circles on the folded edge of the paper bag, I then sewed the twine back and forth and back and forth and then tied it off. The horse is on a pop-dot to add dimension. I used the paisley inked with the pink to make a faux bandanna band around the bag. You know I had no desire to own this particular stamp set but after using it for this party I kinda like it. The bandannas I stuffed into the bag I found at the dollar store. I was going to stamp my own bandannas and then I came to my senses and realized I have way too many things to do and I can buy them for a buck. But just so you know, you can stamp on fabric with our craft ink and then you can heat set it with your iron.

Have you been working on a project? Share it with us. Just send me a picture and the "recipe" and I will use it for an upcoming Friday Idea.

TARGET ALERT: There is new ribbon in the target $1 spot.

Weather is going to be great this weekend so get out and enjoy it!
